In a newly-created project, the Palette view will show a default palette of components from the CertSAFE standard library. Sometimes it would be better if the Palette view showed a project-specific list of components instead. CertSAFE allows you to define custom palettes to override the default behavior.
You can create a custom palette file by choosing File → New → New Palette. This will open an interactive editor where you can add, remove, rearrange, and edit sections and components. Palette files can contain both custom components dragged in from the Projects view as well as standard library components dragged in from the default palette. Sections can be added by clicking in the empty space where the new section should be inserted. The buttons in the top-right corner of a section allow renaming or deleting the section. Components and sections can be reordered via drag-and-drop. The properties of a component can be edited by selecting the component and using the Properties view.
Palette files can be saved in a project the same way as other resources. However, merely saving a palette file does not add it to the Palette view. You also have to edit the Palette files to display in the Palette view for this project list in the Project options editor. This list allows you to add, remove, and reorder the palette files to be displayed in the Palette view. If you remove the default palette and want to re-add it later, you can click the Add button and choose Default palette.
